Google all set to launch it's new Digital Payment App TEZ in India

Google may launch it's new Payment App Tez on 18 September, joining the much crowded and booming mobile wallet and payments system  in India.

Google with it's new Digital Payment App "TEZ" (meaning Faster in Hindi )  is all set to jump into the much crowded and hugely growing Mobile Wallet segment in India. The App is said to be build from scratch and supporting the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which is a single-window mobile payment system launched by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) as well as other consumer payment services, including Paytm and MobiKwik.

As per reports The App will be available on Google Play Store and also on Desktop via the Chrome Widget. It could also be integrated in future in the Android  OS System to make use of the extreme popularity of Android OS which shares almost 97% of smartphone market in India.

Google has a close eye in the Indian market and has been eyeing the Big market that India offers with it's hugely growing Digital Market which has been seen a steep rise after various Government backed Digital Schemes like Digital India and Cashless Economy. With it's Railwire Wi-Fi project with GOI and apps like Youtube Go and now it's Digital Payment App TEZ Google is clearly eyeing the various opportunities the Indian Digital market offers.

After it's limited success in the mobile payment system with Google Wallet and Android Pay, Google will be hoping to grab a fair share of the Mobile Wallet & Digital Payment System in India and revive itself. Google would be an arena which is already crowded and would have to lock horns with players like Paytm (which leads the market with a 57% share), Hike messenger, MobiKwik, Freecharge, Oxigen, Citrus Pay, Jio Money, PayU, Phone Pe, ItzCash, Ola Money along with new players like TrueCaller and Uber. Also Facebook backed WhatsApp is rumored to launch it's Mobile Wallet in near future. It needs to be seen how successful the App would be for Google.
